CSULB Symphony Concert
The CSULB Orchestra is opening their season tomorrow, September 24, at 7:30.
Ryan Darke, Cerritos High School Alumni, and current principal trumpet of the L.A. Opera is a featured soloist, and offering a free trumpet lesson to students who stop by and say hi to him after the concert!
On the program:
Arutunian Trumpet Concerto (Ryan Darke will be the soloist )
Sibelius’s Finlandia
Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1
HS/College Student perk: Any student trumpet player who attends and comes up to say hello after the concert will receive a free lesson voucher!
Trumpet players who attend and bring back a ticket stub and show proof of a lesson voucher will be excused from tomorrow’s rehearsal.
🎷 Artesia D.E.S. Performance
This past Sunday, Jazz I performed alongside bands from Gahr, Tetzlaff, and Ross at the Artesia D.E.S. for one of their annual festivals. The students sounded great, and were able to be a part of our local community!
Woodwind Day with CSULB
Last night, the woodwind faculty at Cal State Long Beach hosted “Woodwind Day” at another local high school. We had about 20 of our musicians attend, and they all came back excited, inspired, and enriched! We are so lucky to have such a great college program in our backyard!

All band and auxiliary students must complete Athletic Clearance before participating this school year.
THIS MUST BE DONE IMMEDIATELY! IT WAS ALREADY DUE!

Start a new clearance for “Cerritos” and the correct year/sport
Upload:
Physical form (signed, stamped, dated)
Medical history questionnaire
Optional: Student Vehicle Use form (if student will drive)
You’ll receive a confirmation email once submitted
Coaches will be updated once clearance is approved
📄 Physicals
Must be signed, dated, and stamped by a physician
Accepted from April 1, 2025 onward or within one year of completion
Kaiser forms are accepted if paired with our questionnaire
