🎶 3/6 Update

As always, make sure you are in the Band app, and have your notifications turned on for the most up to date information!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind! In the past week, we hosted a clinic from the US Army Field Band, had 2 jazz festival performances, drumlins and color guard competitions, a pre-festival concert with Carmenita, and a clinic with longtime band director and festival adjudicator Tom Philips.

Things don’t quite slow down yet. Please read all the information!

Also, take a second to review our dress code. There were some issues at the pre-festival concert that should be addressed before we perform on Wednesday.

🎶 ABCUSD Band Festival

There will be no 7th period band on this day. Students need to remember to bring their instrument and music to Whitney High School.

Arrival- 4:30 PM
Warm-up- 5:00 PM
Performance- 5:30 PM
Clinic- 6:00 PM

Dinner Break
The Boosters will be helping feed our kids between performances. Dinner will be served from 6:30-7:20

Concert Band
Arrival- Come watch the Wind Ensemble. Arrive by 5:15 at the latest.
Warm-up- 7:30 PM
Performance- 8:00 PM
Clinic- 8:30 PM

🎷 Aztec Jazz Festival

Jazz 2
Arrival- 1:45 PM
Warm-up- 2:10 PM
Performance- 2:45 PM

The Jazz 2 performance is on West Campus. This is the small campus across the street from the main school campus. It has its own parking lot. We will meet in front of West Campus.

Jazz 1
Arrival- Come watch Jazz II. If you are unable, arrive by 4:00 PM at the latest.
Warm-up- 4:30 PM
Performance- 5:05 PM

The Jazz 1 performance is in the Theater on the main campus. We will meet in the quad on the main campus.

Everyone should plan on sticking around to watch other bands!
One of the coolest parts of attending a festival is seeing other groups and musicians make great music! There is an awards ceremony at 7:30PM in the theater for anyone who wants to stay for that.

🎼 SCSBOA Festival

We will bus from school to Whittier High School, where we will watch a few other groups and perform.

We will be leaving Whittier High School and planning to arrive back at school for the start of lunch.
